When ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Director of Facilities Operations Jason Wallace isn’t coordinating the University’s army of custodial and maintenance staff, he is leading about 11,000 United States Army Corps of Engineers as a newly decorated brigadier general in the 416th Theater Engineer Command.

Three members of the ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Class of 2021, who excelled in scholarship and service to political causes, have received The Richard L. Stone '81 Civic Freedom Award and Scholarship, as selected by the Center for Freedom and Western Civilization.

¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ is closing the books on a record-setting 2020–21 fundraising year, thanks to the generosity of ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ alumni and other supporters.

Joseph Hernon, a military veteran, and firefighter with 10 years of emergency management experience will lead ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ’s emergency management operations after a nationwide search to fill the vacant role of associate vice president for campus safety, emergency management, and environmental health and safety. 

Out of more than 200 students involved with research this summer, 33 are conducting projects under the auspices of the Upstate Institute.

¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ has announced a new interdisciplinary minor, global public and environmental health (GPEH), as part of its academic curriculum, beginning in the fall 2021 semester.

¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ junior Candido Martinez will be part of the inaugural cohort of students selected from around the country to participate in an Expanding Diversity in Economics Summer Institute, hosted by the Becker Friedman Institute for Economics (BFI) at the University of Chicago.
