After a yearlong hiatus, the Horned Dorset Inn — founded by Kingsley Wratten ‘64 and Harold Davies MA’65 — is reopening its doors, bringing fine French cuisine and Victorian-style overnight guest accommodations back to Central New York.

After winning gold in the International Ice Hockey Federation Division IA World Championships last year, Thomas Larkin ’13 and Team Italy will lace up the skates in the 2012 World Championships in Finland and Sweden. Larkin will be the only collegiate player competing in the international event.

Thirty-five seniors, eight juniors, and five alumni competed for nationally competitive fellowships, scholarships, and grants through �Ա���Ƶ during the 2011-2012 academic year.

In between classes today some students performed in a flash mob as music poured from the Chapel speakers. It was a short break right around 1p.m. and a nice diversion on the Academic Quad. What a weekend for ‘gate athletics. Tell us in comments what you followed, either online or in person. Men’s Lacrosse The men’s lacrosse team set team and individual records while hosting the Patriot League finals at Andy Kerr Stadium.

The stage is set for a classic men’s college lacrosse showdown, as No. 11 �Ա���Ƶ will face No. 9 Lehigh at 3 p.m. Sunday at Andy Kerr Stadium for the Patriot League Tournament title and an automatic berth to next month’s NCAA Tournament.

Dancefest, one of the most if not the most popular event on campus, will be webcast live for the first time this Saturday. Alumni, parents, and friends can watch the student performances starting at 6 p.m. by going to the �Ա���Ƶ Livestream channel: www.livestream.com/colgateuniversity.

�Ա���Ƶ welcomed Gabriel Bol Deng, a “Lost Boy of Sudan,” to campus on Thursday. Gabriel fled Sudan when his village was attacked; years later he came to Syracuse, N.Y., as a refugee, and now he speaks about his experiences. He came to �Ա���Ƶ to speak about his organization Hope for Ariang.

Red spotlights hit the stage of the Palace Theater, illuminating Dao Anh Khanh’s silhouette behind an opaque sheet, on April 6. As the performance artist began to move, each of Khanh’s calculated motions was synchronized with alternating colored lights, powerful noise, musical harmonies, video, and smoke. The overall effect was like moving art.

Jessica Blank ’11, six months on the job at NBC Nightly News, already has filmed and edited a news segment that now is on the NBC website. And, to top it off, the segment features a fellow alumnus.
