Every Friday the 13th, the ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ community celebrates . . .
¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Day is a worldwide celebration that takes place every Friday the 13th. It’s a day to gather with ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ friends and show your pride for alma mater, to wear maroon, and to show your love on social media. On ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Day we celebrate our ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ spirit, and our connection with ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ alumni spread all across the globe.
On ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Day, we issued a challenge that if 3,113 members of this community made a gift, a group of generous challengers would give $1.5 million in support of the ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Fund - specifically the ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Commitment, the University's initiative in access and affordability.
Thank you to the 3,691 members of this community who met the ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Day Challenge, making gifts totaling $1,968,628 in support of the ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Fund. When added to the $1.5 million unlocked by our challengers, a total of almost $3.5 million was raised. This is truly remarkable and is an important step forward in our continued fundraising efforts for the ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Commitment. While it is true that we have significantly more to raise in order to reach our ambitious financial aid goal - to see 50% of students eligible to receive aid - we took an important step forward on ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Day.
