Women’s Track and Field Takes Eighth at the Adidas Boston Indoor Games

BOSTON, MASS. ‘ The ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ women’s track and field team competed at the Adidas Boston Indoor Games on Friday night where it finished eighth out of 11 teams.  Lisa Germain (Queensbury, N.Y.) was the Raiders’ top-finisher with a third place performance in the long jump turning in a mark of 18’07.00′ (5.66 meters).

 

Germain also competed in the preliminaries for the 55 meter dash where she posted a time of 7.48.  Teammate Kaitlyn Fitzpatrick (Royersford, Pa.) posted a preliminary time of 7.93 seconds and turned in a mark of 29.26 in the 200 meter dash.

 

Freshman Danielle Whicher (N.Reading, Mass.) took home a fifth place finish in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:13.95 scoring four points for the Raiders.  Hannah Failing (Deerfield, N.Y.) and Rachel Pettengill (Sudbury, Mass.) also competed in the race turning in times of 10:59.46 and 11:36.58 respectively.

 

Freshman Nicole Christoforo (Rockland, Mass.) was 10th in the mile run in 5:23.20.  Lia Cross (Skaneateles, N.Y.) followed closely behind in 11th with a time of 5:25.07.  Mary Pratt (Basking Ridge, N.J.) competed in the 400 meter dash and posted a time of 1:02.90 in the race.

 

Colleen Rice (Liverpool, N.Y.) was ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ’s lone competitor in the 800 meters where she turned in a time of 2:27.14.  Liz Crowley (West Simsbury, Conn.) was the Raiders’ top-finisher in the 1,000 meters in 3:12.68, while Macrina Seals (Pennellville, N.Y.) finished the same race in 3:12.68.

 

Nolana Quince (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Emily Thomson (Billerica, Mass.) competed in the preliminaries of the 55 meter hurdles.  Quince finished in 9.13 seconds, while Thomson crossed the finish line in 9.75.

 

Quince leaped 34’09.75′ in the triple jump and Thomson along with Shannon O’Hagan (Sarnia, Ont.) finished with a mark of 5’02.25′ (1.58 meters) in the high jump.  O’Hagan took home 2.5 points for ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ with her performance.

 

Other teams competing in the meet were host Northeastern, UConn, Boston College, Williams, UMass-Amherst, University of New Haven, UMass-Lowell, Albany, S. Connecticut, and Stonehill.

 

The Raiders are back in action next Saturday as they host the Class of ’32 Invitational in ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ’s own Sanford Fieldhouse at 11 a.m.
