Hamilton, N.Y. – The ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ women’s soccer team is on fire of late, after dropping its initial two contests, the Raiders have won four straight including a 6-0 win over Youngstown State on Sunday. Kate Barrett (Troy, N.Y.) led the Raider attack with three goals and an assist, upping her season point total to 16 points in six matches.
The Raiders jumped out early scoring three goals in the first 13:30. Carolyn Warhaftig (Wyckoff, N.J.) started the scoring at 3:54 when she took a feed from Barrett and slotted it past the keeper.
Barrett then scored two straight to put the Raiders up three. Both goals were unassisted. With just under a minute left in the first half Meredith Rovelli (Scarsdale, N.Y.) tallied her first collegiate goal off a pass from freshman Tara Meyer (Portland, Ore.) putting the Raiders up by four heading to halftime.
Barrett scored her third unassisted goal at 64:51 to record the hat trick. Freshman Courtney Robb (Princeton Junction, N.J.) set the final score with her first career goal at 71:11.
The Raiders dominated throughout registering 17 shots on goal, while the Penguins recorded zero. ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ outcornered Youngstown 12-1.
Goalkeeper Alex Baker was untested in recording her second straight shutout.
The Raiders look to win their fifth straight on Wednesday, September 17, when the Golden Griffins of Canisius come to Hamilton for a 7 p.m. kickoff
