Tickets for former prime minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Tony Blair’s lecture at ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ will be made available starting Monday, Sept. 14.
As part of the university’s , Blair will give a talk at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, in Sanford Field House. There is no charge for a ticket, which is required to attend the event.
Now in its fourth year, the Global Leaders Lecture Series, sponsored by ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ’s Parents’ and Grandparents’ Fund, allows the university to invite high-profile guests to campus.
Ret. Gen. Colin Powell, former U.S. secretary of state, delivered the most recent in the series. During his April visit to campus, Powell met with a group of 50 students for a question-and-answer session and gave a public talk about leadership to a crowd of 4,500.
Other lecture series speakers have included the , spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism, and , award-winning authors of Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything.
Faculty, staff, and students
Sept. 14-27: Members of the campus community can reserve tickets by logging on to the university portal. Faculty and staff may secure up to two tickets, and students are allowed to reserve one ticket.

Sept. 14-Oct. 4: Parents of ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ students can reserve up to two tickets via the private link that was e-mailed to them. Contact glls@colgate.edu if you did not receive the link.
Please do not reserve tickets for your student; they will have an opportunity to secure a ticket through the university portal.
Alumni
Sept. 28-Oct. 4: Alumni can secure up to two tickets by visiting or calling 1-877-362-7666.
General public and groups
Oct. 5: The public can reserve any remaining tickets (limit two per order) by going to or calling 877-362-7666 while supplies last.
For group reservations or special needs, please reserve your tickets online and follow the instructions. There is a 20 ticket limit for group reservations. The office of special events for advancement will contact you shortly after you make your reservations.
Special instructions
Ticket holders must arrive early. Doors to Sanford Field House will open at 5 p.m. and close at 7 p.m.
Because of Blair’s international stature, extra security measures will be implemented. All participants will be subject to security checks including metal detectors and possible searches.
Backpacks, large handbags, and food/drink are not permitted and will not be allowed inside the venue. The use of cameras, cell phones, other electronic devices, and recording equipment of any kind is strictly prohibited.
