Men’s Lacrosse Picks Up Second Straight Win with a 12-6 Victory over St. Joseph’s

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ men’s lacrosse team won its second straight game with a 12-6 victory over St. Joseph’s on Saturday afternoon.   Freshman Rob Ryan (Manhasset, N.Y.) tallied three goals and an assist while Eddie Brennan (Hillsborough, Calif.) and Robert Trasolini (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) notched three goals apiece in the win.

 

¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ had eight points on the board, including seven first period goals, before Keegan Wilkinson broke the Hawks silence with and unassisted tally at 4:42 in the second.  Ryan scored his second goal of the game to close out the period and put ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ up 9-1.

 

The Raiders notched one goal in the third, while St. Joseph’s netted three to bring the score to 9-4.  Trasolini opened the fourth stanza with his third goal of the afternoon followed by a point from Jeff Vander Meulen (Liverpool, N.Y.) to give the Raiders a 12-4 lead.   St. Joseph’s final efforts resulted in two goals, but weren’t enough to overcome the Raiders who came away with the 12-6 victory.

 

Andrew Jarolimek (Silverthorne, Colo.) opened up the game in goal for the Raiders.  He faced 20 shots allowing five goals and making eight saves before Kyle Stuart (Annandale, Va.) took over in the fourth facing eight shots allowing one goal and stopping six.

 

¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ out shot St. Joseph’s 38-28 and held the advantage in ground balls with 34 to the Hawks’ 30.  St. Joseph’s capitalized on three-of-nine extra man opportunities while ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ made good on just two-of-eight chances.  The officials called 18 total penalties with each team committing nine apiece.

 

The Raiders are back in action on March 6 as they head to Dartmouth for a 2:30 p.m. contest against the Big Green.
