With its thrilling last-second win over Bucknell, the ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ men’s lacrosse team became the Patriot League regular season champs and earned the right to host the league tournament this coming weekend.
Peter Baum ’13 scored the game-winner Friday night with just two seconds remaining in regulation to send Raider Nation into a frenzy. His goal capped a wild comeback for the Raiders, who traveled back to Hamilton with an 11-10 .
Baum finished the game with four points on three goals and an assist to extend his scoring streak to 40-straight games, which is the fifth longest in the nation. He was the subject of a New York Times on Friday extolling his and the team’s play.
The story, which appeared in the The Quad, the °Õ¾±³¾±ð²õ’ college sports blog, was written by Steve Urban ’12, a reporter for the university’s Maroon-News newspaper.
¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ will host the Patriot League Tournament at Andy Kerr Stadium. The Raiders will face Bucknell on Friday at 5 p.m., while Lehigh will face Army at 8 p.m. Both game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
