¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Humanities Colloquium

Hamilton – David McCabe, assistant professor of philosophy at ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ, will be the guest speaker at the next Humanities Colloquium Series lecture on Tuesday, February 9. The topic of his talk, which will take place at 4:00 p.m. in the Ho Lecture Room, Lawrence Hall, will be ‘The Crisis of Liberal Education: Michael Oakeshott on the Idea of a University.’
McCabe, who holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Northwestern University and a B.A. from Williams College, specializes in social and political philosophy and ethics. His writings have been published in such publications as History of Philosophy Quarterly, The Review of Politics, The Journal of Social Philosophy, Ethics, and Social Theory and Practice. As well, McCabe has presented papers at several professional meetings and published reviews in a number of periodicals.
