It’s hard to believe that Halloween is this Friday, and that October is already coming to an end. There are still plenty of events to check out when you’re not channeling your favorite superhero this weekend.
On Thursday, October 30, Lounge: Late Night Arts Event, will be having a special Halloween-themed event hosted at La Casa.
Lounge showcases students’ performances and still art, including students’ photography, paintings, music, and poetry. This will be the fourth Lounge event of the semester, and participants and audience members are encouraged to come dressed in their most festive Halloween costumes. The takes place at 8 p.m.
On Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., there will be an open meeting for everyone on campus to continue discussions about inclusivity, civility, and mutual respect. The meeting will be held at 27 Persson Hall, and also will include a progress report on a number of initiatives outlined on the ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ For All .
On Thursday, a panel of faculty members from the Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies Program will discuss recent events in the Middle East. The will be held at 5:30 p.m. in 105 Lawrence Hall.
Participants include Noor Khan, associate professor of history; Dan Monk, Cooley Professor of peace and conflict studies and professor of geography and Middle East studies; and Bruce Rutherford, associate professor of political science.
Everyone is invited to participate in this discussion, which follows the by Shimon Peres, former Israeli prime minister, at ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ on Saturday.
There is a great chance to view the film Persepolis, an adaptation of the graphic novel by the same title, that was written and directed by Marjane Satrapi. You can watch the at 5 p.m. Friday in Golden Auditorium, and you can see in person at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Love Auditorium.
