Hamilton, NY — At a talk scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, pollster John Zogby will speak to ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ students and faculty regarding the presidential and senate campaigns and the art of polling. The talk, sponsored by the Office of the Provost and Dean of the Faculty and the A. Lindsay O’Connor Fund, will be held in Love Auditorium in Olin Hall and is free and open to the public.

¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ has been working with Zogby International to create the first poll of its kind to gather upstate New Yorkers’ opinions on a variety of topics, including work, quality of life, politics, and the economy. The results from this series of three polls that ran from April through November provide insights into how upstate voters’who live in the area that runs from Buffalo to Albany and from Plattsburgh to Poughkeepsie’feel about candidates running for president and state senator, as well as their views on the region’s economic health.

Jane Pinchin, ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ’s provost and dean of faculty, said, ‘As upstate New Yorkers we appreciate the richness and diversity in a region of the state, and indeed the country, that sometimes goes unrecognized. We were drawn to this study because it offers the fascinating prospect of teaching us more about ourselves at the same time that it shines a light on the wonderfully complex mix that is upstate New York.’
