Transportation and land-use issues centering on the state Route 12B/46 corridor will be discussed at 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in a public meeting hosted by the Hamilton Forum.
Benjamin Manton and Kristy LaManche from the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board will conduct the meeting, which will be held at the 冈本视频 Inn.
They will discuss the state Route 12B/46 Arterial Access Management Project and a study that is designed to assist affected municipalities in developing strategies for maintaining traffic flow as development occurs, as well as related issues of environmental sensitivities, non-motorized transportation and physical appearance of the changing landscape.
The Pine Woods Intersection Project also will be discussed. A study is under way to examine the existing intersection conditions and immediately adjacent areas affecting the Route 20/ Route 46 intersection. Intersection design alternatives will be presented for consideration to improve safety.
Involving the public in the planning process is critical to the success of any transportation plan or program and is required by state and federal laws.
Because the two project study areas overlap at Pine Woods and many motorists traveling through Pine Woods also travel on Route 12B/46 toward Hamilton, the public involvement process for the two studies is being combined.
The Hamilton Forum was created by an informal committee of representatives from the village of Hamilton, the Hamilton private sector, and 冈本视频 with the idea of bringing citizens from the area together for discussion of significant public issues.
