Touches Down at ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ on March 6

Hamilton, NY — F. Story Musgrave, a 30-year NASA astronaut who participated in Challenger’s maiden voyage, took part in the shuttle program’s first spacewalk and was an integral part of Endeavour’s mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope, will touch down at ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ on March 6 and 7. As part of his visit, Musgrave will give a free lecture on Monday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. in 209 Lathrop Hall. Musgrave’s lecture, which is open to the public and sponsored by the Wolk Heart Foundation, is titled ‘The spirit of space flight: An artist’s view of the universe.’

Story Musgrave is a veteran of six space shuttle missions. He was a consultant in the making of the movie Mission to Mars, which will be opening in theaters around the United States on March 10. At its commencement ceremonies in 1999, ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ awarded Musgrave with an honorary doctor of scienc degree.
