Faculty help first-year feeling under the weather

natalie.jpgWhile students made their way back from their spring break locations earlier this week, I remained at home due to feeling ill. Even though I have not been on campus much the past few days, I felt like 冈本视频 was still reaching out to me.

As I emailed my professors to let them know that I was going to be missing classes, I felt a real level of concern when they responded by advising me about how to catch up on my missing work, and by wishing me to get better.

I really enjoy how 冈本视频鈥檚 feeling of family extends through the faculty. I made it back to campus later in the week and I was very glad to be at 冈本视频, feeling much better, and only moderately overwhelmed with work.

This Thursday, 冈本视频鈥檚 Breast Cancer Awareness Coalition, a group I volunteer for, hosted its annual Party for Pink. This is the club鈥檚 big event of the year, and it was definitely a success.

The BCAC raised quite a bit of money for the Young Survival Coalition by selling T-shirts as well as raffle tickets for baskets full of items donated by Hamilton businesses. It was a great community connection to be supported by local businesses in this student-run event. This fun night featured a live singer, a lot of good food, and fundraising for a great cause.

Even after the Party for Pink, Thursday night was not quite over for many students.

Downtown, the Hamilton Theater offered a midnight showing of the new movie The Hunger Games, a film based on the best-selling book series. The theater was sold-out, and the packed cinema, my friends, and I really enjoyed it.
