Educational scholar Nel Noddings to give lecture September 25

Hamilton, NY — Educational scholar Nel Noddings, Visiting A. Lindsay O’Connor Professor of American Institutions at ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ, will speak at ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ on Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. Titled ‘Moral Education: A Sympathetic Alternative to Character Education,’ the lecture will take place in Love Auditorium, Olin Hall. Free and open to the public, the lecture is sponsored by the Department of Educational Studies. A reception will follow.

Noddings holds the titles of Lee L. Jacks Professor of child education, emerita, at Stanford University and professor of philosophy and education at Teachers College Columbia. Noddings is the author of 11 books and monographs, including Caring: A Feminist Approach to Ethics and Moral Education, Women and Evil, The Challenge to Care in Schools and Care Theory and Social Policy.
