HANOVER, N.H.– In a game that featured 21 penalties for 54 penalty minutes and two players being ejected in the second period for fighting, the Big Green of Dartmouth defeated ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ 8-0.
¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ’s Allison Paiano and Dartmouth’s Cherie Piper were both ejected for fighting at 16:36 of the second period, in which 13 penalties were whistled. Both players will miss their respective team’s next game.
Dartmouth scored three goal in the first. Sarah Clark scored twice and Correne Bredin tallied the third goal to give the Big Green a 3-0 lead after one period.
Piper and leading scorer Carly Haggard tallied goals in the second to increase Dartmouth’s lead to 5-0.
Dartmouth would add three more scores in the third from Bredin, Alana BreMiller, and Amy Catlin, to set the final at 8-0.
¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ was outshot 42-14 and finished 0-8 on the power play, while the Big Green went 1-7 with a man advantage.
¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ now 11-17 overall and 3-9 in the ECAC takes on traveling partner Cornell on Thursday in Ithaca.
