ԱƵ Welcomes Class of 2023 to Campus

Back to All Stories

On August 25, ԱƵ welcomed the Class of 2023 to campus — the first new class of the Institution’s third century.

An avid hiker and lover of the outdoors, Molly Rosenthal ’23 of Chappaqua, N.Y., said ԱƵ was a natural choice when she was conducting her college search.

“A, the academics here are just great. My advisors already reached out three times. I wasn’t even here yet, and I already felt like I was part of something,” said Rosenthal, who is one of the first students to live in Burke Hall, one of ԱƵ’s two new residence halls. Rosenthal is a member of Brown Commons, one of four Residential Commons at ԱƵ.

Sarika Pryeddy ’23, of Wycoff, N.J., like Rosenthal, was busy moving into Burke Hall Sunday morning. Also a member of the Brown Commons, said she was attracted to the school because of its small class sizes and personal attention. Pyreddy plans to major in biology, and she said that outside of the classroom she is interested in learning to become an emergency medical technician.

At West Hall, Dart-Colegrove Commons member Günes Tiryaki ’23, of Mentese, Turkey, said he applied to 20 schools before selecting ԱƵ as his new academic home. Tiryaki has been on campus for about a week for international student orientation activities.

“ԱƵ gave the most financial assistance of all the universities I was accepted into,” Tiryaki said. “It’s just so nice here. I feel so welcomed.”
