HAMILTON, NY  – The ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ men’s soccer team fell to Philadelphia University on Wednesday, 3-2 in the cold temperatures of central New York.

¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ, 6-6-3 on the season scored the game’s first goal at 37:38 on a penalty kick by Jon Gelman (Eastchester, NY/Eastchester).

Philadelphia tied the score with only five seconds to play in the first half.  Nolan Dzielak sent a corner in to teammate Frederick Douglas who scored in the scramble in front.

Philadelphia went up at 54:56 when Paul Ordway scored on a breakaway set up by passes from Jason Dzielak and Adam Pollack, giving Philadelphia a 2-1 lead.

The Raiders tied the score at 69:21 when Jon Cook (Oneonta, NY/Laurens Central) scored on a breakaway pass from Justin Seconi (Rochester, NY/Rochester).

The Rams got the game-winner at 79:56 when Paul Ordway scored for the second time off a pass from Frederick Douglas giving Philadelphia the 3-2 win.

¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ had many opportunities in the match, missing out on four breakaway opportunities, three by Cook and one by Zack Stuppy (York, ME/York).

¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ outshot Philadelphia 16-14, but was outcornered 4-2.

Will Martin (Excelsior, MN/Breck) made seven stops in the loss dropping his record to 5-6-2.

The Raiders play Patriot League foe Lafayette in a must-win match for ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Van Doren Field.
