New Student Checklist

Pre-Orientation - Due June 5 (today!)

Reserve a spot in or another by completing the registration form. Learn more about the optional and required programs by visiting the .

Housing Preference Form - Due June 15

To begin the housing assignment process for the 2024–25 academic year, please log in to your to complete your housing preference form. Our Office of Residential Life has prepared this to help you plan ahead for your arrival. You will receive your housing and roommate information toward the end of July. Students who need housing adjustments may submit their application through

Accessing Your Housing Preference Form

Use your ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ email address and password to login to the housing portal at . It is important that you use your username and password and not your applicant ID when logging in; your applicant ID will not grant you access to your account.

  1. On the homepage of your portal, a new option - Housing Application - should now be available toward the top of the screen. Click this to navigate to the application page.
  2. On the Housing Application page, you will be able to access the Academic Year 2024-2025 application. Click Apply to begin the application process.
  3. Follow the step-by-step instructions.
  4. Click Save & Continue on the Housing Agreement page, so that residential life staff members will receive your information. We will only review the submitted forms.

Accommodations

Students who need housing adjustments may submit their application through the by June 15. The Accommodate platform is separate from the Housing Portal. The Office of Student Disability Services will review submissions and determine the status of each submitted request. All relevant documentation should be included in your application. Questions about the housing accommodations/adjustment application process should be directed to Evelyn Lester, director of disability services, at elester@colgate.edu.

Language Background Form - Due June 15

¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ offers a wide range of language courses that you can take depending on your previous experience. Providing a more detailed description of your language background will help us explain the various ways you can fulfill the Core Liberal Arts Practice in Language Study. Upon completion of this , you may also be prompted to complete a placement exam.

Fall Course Registration - Coming Soon!

You will receive an email from the Office of the Registrar in mid-June with directions on how to submit your ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ Academic Preferences and Experiences (CAPE) form and information regarding the fall course schedule process.

Patient Portal - Activate by July 1

Students are required to activate their account with Student Health Services. You will receive an activation letter with instructions through your ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ email.

Vaccination and Medical Forms - Due July 1

¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ requires all new students to complete and submit vaccination and medical forms by July 1. This information is necessary to comply with University and New York state requirements and helps us direct your health care during your time at ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ. Religious Preferences

The Office of the Chaplains provides the ¸Ô±¾ÊÓƵ community with a dynamic, friendly, and supportive place in which to seek answers to life’s biggest questions.
